Hypnotic Suggestion

Hypnotic suggestion or clinical hypnosis is the hypnotherapy most people think of when hypnosis is mentioned.


After an initial chat to find out what you do and don’t want, you will be relaxed into a calm and peaceful trance state of mind and given suggestions to help change your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.


You will be aware throughout the whole process, but in a comfortable hypnotic trance.  You will be able to accept the suggestions that you do want and will naturally reject anything that you do not want.  You will be in complete control the whole time.


Hypnotic Suggestion is ideal for breaking habits such as Stopping Smoking, Nail-Biting, and Hair-Pulling (Trichotillomania), or boosting your confidence before a public speech, or with assistance with passing exams or driving test.


It can also be used for pain control, childbirth, IBS, boosting your immune system and a range of other medical applications, though medical examination with your GP may be required prior to such treatment.

Hypnotic suggestion is also great for general relaxation.


Hypnotic Suggestion CAN be permanent but it depends on the nature of the issue. If the suggestions ‘stick’ enough to permanently change your inner belief(s), then the results will be long-lasting.


However, if it is used as a short-term fix to help you get through a situation, then the results may be short-term as well, lasting perhaps a few weeks or so, depending on the individual circumstances.

Hypnotic suggestion (sometimes called Clinical Hypnosis) typically requires 1 -3 sessions, but it does vary from person to person.


Hypnoanalysis is probably one of the kindest, quickest and most effective forms of therapy available in the world today for the resolution of personal emotional and psychological problems such as Anxiety, Depression, Fears, Phobias, Eating Disorders, Relationship Issues, Sexual Problems, Lack of Confidence, Poor Performance, Public Performance…Or anything where your thoughts and feelings are creating emotions that impact on your behaviour or experience.


Hypno-analysis helps to resolve the real root of the issue and underlying cause of the problem by combining methods drawn from a wide range of psychotherapeutic approaches – and often leads to permanent beneficial changes.


Sometimes hypno-analysis can work very quickly, often in just a few sessions, but it really does depend upon the individual situation. Usually, you would expect to attend for a course of 6 – 8 sessions as an average, but can be more or a lot less. The course of treatment will be tailored specifically to you and designed to resolve your issue as quickly, efficiently and kindly as possible.


Hypno-analysis will essentially give you a complete “emotional clear-out” – setting you free of old ideas and old feelings that may have been holding you back or causing problems for years.


Most people going through a course of hypno-analysis discover that not only do their issues get resolved, but also their personal and working lives take off in new and exciting ways as well.


You are still YOU at the end but usually a much happier, relaxed and more confident you.

Neuro Linguistic Programming

NLP offers some fantastic tools and methods for you to draw upon which are very effective when combined with clinical hypnosis and hypnoanalysis but can also be done very consciously without any formal hypnosis at all.


It is a method of influencing brain behaviour (the “neuro” part of the phrase) through the use of language (the “linguistic” part) and other types of communication to enable a person to “recode” the way the brain responds to stimuli (that’s the “programming”) and bring about new and better behaviours.


It is basically the use of language to influence how we think and respond to situations.  It is extremely effective to assist in learning new skills, improve a current skill, modify an existing behaviour or model a desired behaviour.   It offers some great techniques for overcoming phobias, improve public speaking, reduce anxiety, assisting with pain control and is very useful for accessing the right state at the right time for sports or performance related issues.


It aims to make the unconscious thinking we do conscious and allows you to reprogram your own mind to work in a more beneficial and helpful way.  It is often said that the mind is a fantastic servant but a terrible master.  NLP enables you to take control of your own thinking and use the mind as a tool to get the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that you want in life.

Tinnitus Treatment

For the symptomatic relief of Tinnitus, hypnosis & hypnotherapy can often be extremely effective.


Using some basic techniques, you may be able to discover surprisingly effective ways of reducing, controlling or even eliminating your awareness of your Tinnitus symptoms.


Once learned, these techniques are fairly easy to apply and can be put to use in almost any situation, even those ‘quiet’ moments when your symptoms are often at their worse.


In an ideal situation, you can expect the overall level of your Tinnitus to appear to decrease and turn down, so that it no longer seems to be so intrusive. In some cases you may even be able to ‘turn it off’ for periods.


In many cases, absolutely. There is no ‘magic’ involved and this is not necessarily a ‘cure’ in medical terms. Using this particular approach the hypnosis and hypnotherapy can primarily help you reduce your awareness of the Tinnitus – like not noticing the humming of your computer – until of course you draw your attention to it.


Different approaches, however, can use the calming and relaxing effects of the hypnosis itself to help you reduce stress – one of the primary aggravators of Tinnitus symptoms – as well as resolve any underlying emotional issues which are often contributing factors.


The principles and techniques are applicable to all Tinnitus sufferers, though the results achieved will vary from person to person.


Most of the symptomatic-relief techniques do involve an element of self-hypnosis, which you will be able to learn during the sessions, and anyone who wants to experience self-hypnosis, can – so there is no need to worry about not being able to be hypnotised.


You would normally allow an average of 3 or 4 sessions to cover this properly, spread over a few weeks, but more will be available if required. Sessions last approximately 1 hour each.

Pain Management

If you suffer with chronic pain of any sort and have been medically checked and diagnosed, we can teach you some extremely effective techniques that very often makes a huge difference. It is important to note that pain is the body’s way of warning you something is wrong and needs attention, therefore, before any kind of pain relief treatment, we would of course require that you have first been to your GP or suitable medical specialist to address the underlying cause and get a diagnosis, though we dot require any kind of referral.


Hypnosis has been used to control pain for centuries and people have even undergone surgery whilst in a hypnotic trance. In fact, it was fast becoming the primary form of anaesthesia prior to the development of safe drugs to do the job in the 18 and 1900’s.


The mind is such a powerful tool that we can use its abilities to reduce or in some cases completely eliminate your pain.  Pain is generated in the brain as a result of nerve impulses; we can work together using special hypnotic techniques to change how the brain processes these impulses to make you feel a lot more comfortable and relaxed.
